Dubiopolis untersucht die Analogien zwischen der fiktiven Stadt Metropolis aus dem Filmklassiker von Fritz Lang und der real existierenden Stadt Dubai. In einer kaleidoskopartigen Installation werden diese in Gegenüberstellung verschiedener Medien visuell erfahrbar gemacht. Besonders interessant ist hierbei die Tatsache, dass beide Städte von Anbeginn auf ihre mediale Lesbarkeit angelegt waren. Sowohl in Metropolis als auch in Dubai ist Architektur der wichtigste Protagonist in der Erzählung von Stadt und der Erschaffung eines Mythos.

Dubiopolis investigates and makes visible the analogies between the fictional city of Metropolis from the film by Fritz Lang and the real city of Dubai in a kaleidoscopic installation juxtaposing various media. We are particularly interested in the fact that both cities were conceived from the very beginning with a view to their legibility in the media. Both in Dubai and in Metropolis, architecture has become the main protagonist in the account of the city and the creation of a myth.
