Shifting Horizons

Auf den Vorderseiten der Stufen sind Bildsegmente von Himmel und Wasser angebracht. Das Rad wird durch Solarenergie in Bewegung gesetzt. Durch die bewegliche Aufhängung der Stufen zeigen die Bildflächen immer nach vorne. Ein in Segmente unterteilter vertikaler Rundblick von 360° auf offenem Meer erscheint so in verschiedenen Stellungen, jeweils exakt ablesbar an der Position der gegenüberliegenden Horizontlinien.

Picture segments of the sky and of water have been applied to the front face of the steps. The wheel is set in motion by solar energy. As the steps are hung in moving mounts, the picture planes always face forward. A vertical, 360-degree panorama of the open sea, divided into segments, thus appears at different positions
